I just realized that I never posted about this here yesterday. So when I got home from work yesterday, I’m talking to my mom who’s sitting in the carport going through some old boxes and organizing things for a yard sale were planning to have later this summer. I look up and out the back doorway of the carport and I see this cute brown doggie sitting at the edge of the sidewalk we had put in just a few months ago. I go “well, hello puppy!” And he stands, wags his tail, and looks generally excited, so I move slowly towards him. He’s a medium sized dog, so I wasn’t too nervous (I have a slight fear of big dogs because I was bitten by one when I was four, but I’ve gotten better with them in time). But he was super friendly and as soon as I reached out my hand to let him sniff, he licked it and let me pet him and scratch his head. That’s when I noticed another doggie, a white dog with black patches who turned out to be his brother, coming towara us. He was a bit more timid, but still friendly. My immediate concern was to find their owner because someone was obviously missing these precious angels. So, after finding a bit of rope for a makeshift leash, I called the number on their tags and the guy answers the phone. When I told him that I’d found two dogs with that number in their tags, he was so relieved! Apparently, his son, a 6 year old, had accidentally left their backyard gate open and the dogs got out. They’d been missing overnight and the boy was so upset. I told the man on the phone that I had them safe and sound and he agreed to meet me at the middle school that’s across the street from me to get his babies back (it wasn’t that I thought he’d be a creeper, but I’d rather him not know where I live lol. I’m paranoid like that.) The guy was so glad to get the dogs back that he handed me a $100 bill.
So that’s what I did with my day yesterday. :)
